Fashion Arts Showcase 2024: Art and Diversity

Posted: 20th March 2024

The Fashion and Arts Showcase, held on 29 Feb and 1 March, was the best performance we have produced to date, not only were the months of hard work and dedication celebrated but the students involved were outstanding in terms of behaviour positivity and comradery. Congratulations to them all on such a magnificent performance.

The theme of this year’s show was ‘Inspiration’ and the House Leaders were instrumental in selecting the individual focus themes for the Houses, this student lead approach was one that we have been working towards in recent years and it was wonderful to see the House Leaders really embrace the task of developing ideas for meaningful and challenging themes. To be able to represent themes such as People, Places, and Cultures, to name a few, in a mature and considered way is really a reflection of the student’s ability to understand and celebrate diversity through such a joyful event.

The funds raised will primarily go to our three school charities, YuYo, supporting three primary schools in Kenya and to whom we have recently been able to send funding to support a young man named Kayemba with his Leukaemia treatment. The Cold Feet Foundation, through whom we are supporting the Shree Mahadev Secondary School in Kolpoltar are hoping to provide vital funds for a library and safe house. And Kujuwa who continues to do amazing work in Kenya supporting period poverty. We are, as ever trying to instill in our community a sense of philanthropy and further developing our understanding of the vital work that the charities we support and doing.

Thank you to all who took part, once again I have nothing else to say except that, you are incredible, and you are doing amazing things to support those less fortunate.
