Surbiton Assembly Rooms

This historic building, built in the 1890s was once home to a cinema, and musical concerts as well as being used as a community building. It was purchased by the School in the 1990s and is now home to the Dining Hall for the Senior Girls and Boys’ Prep, the Main Hall, Music and Geography classrooms and practice rooms.

Surbiton High School’s Main Building is home to the Senior School, where the majority of lessons take place, including subject-specific spaces such as the Dance Studio (the Upper Hall), the Drama Studio, Science and DT labs, Library and Computer Suites.
Mary Bennett House

Mary Bennett House sits prominently on the crossroads of Surbiton Crescent and Maple Road and has the beautiful David Wynne OBE ‘Two Dolphins sculpture outside the entrance. This building is home to our English and Learning Support Departments.
Welfare Centre
The Welfare Centre is a small Victorian building, based within the Senior School, that houses our school nurses and counsellors who support our pupil’s well-being throughout the academic year.
Sixth Form Building

The Sixth Form Building is home to our Sixth Form students. Located on Surbiton Crescent, the building was recently fully refurbished with new classrooms, furniture, a fitness suite and air conditioning. A café, study area, common room, fitness suite and gym alongside classrooms make this the hub of the Sixth Form experience at Surbiton High School.
Charles Burney House

Purchased in 2015, and opened by Tim Henman OBE, Charles Burney House is named after one of the co-founders of Surbiton High School. It is home to our Boys’ Prep School for our Reception to Year 3 pupils and features a science/art room, music room, library and classrooms for each year.
Arundel House

Arundel House was already a boys’ independent school when it was purchased by the School in 1987 and brought under the Surbiton High School umbrella. It is now home to our Boys’ Prep School Year 4 to Year 6 pupils and features a science/art room, music room, library and classrooms for each year.
Girls’ Prep School

Hinchley Wood Sports Ground is home to our larger sports ground, Forest School and woodland all located just a short drive from the main School sites. With over 36 acres of space, these Sports Grounds offers six netball/tennis courts, a newly refurbished olympic-sized hockey pitch, and multi-use grass playing fields, with two cricket astro strips. The Pavillion houses a fully-equipped gym, 30-bike spin room and changing rooms.

Once owned by the BBC, Surbiton High School’s Boat House is nestled next to the river in Teddington and is the home of our rowing team. Newly refurbished in 2024, the Boat House provides our rowers with a training and changing facility.
