Fees FAQs

How much are the school fees?

Fees are charged per term, across three terms a year, and vary by school and year group. The current fee schedule is available to download on this page, and our admissions team is happy to talk any family through the detail.

Is VAT included in the fees?

Yes, the fees shown include VAT. Following the change to VAT on school fees, our published figures are the full amount you will pay, so there are no surprises added at billing.

What is included in the fees?

Fees cover the normal curriculum tuition together with most books and stationery. A number of extras are billed termly on top, and the current list is set out with the fee information on this page.

How and when do we pay?

You can pay termly by direct debit — usually on 1 September, 1 January and 15 April — or spread the cost across twelve monthly instalments from August to July. The admissions team can set up whichever suits your family.

Is a deposit required?

Yes. An acceptance deposit is payable when you accept a place; the amount is confirmed in your offer letter. It is held and returned after your child leaves, once fees are settled.

Are sibling discounts available?

Yes. Families receive a 5% discount for a second child and 10% for a third and any further children attending at the same time. Places are always awarded on each child’s own merit.

Are scholarships and bursaries available?

Yes. Means-tested bursaries and scholarships are offered at key entry points, and can make a Surbiton High education possible for more families than many expect. You can read who is eligible and how to apply on our Scholarships & Bursaries pages.
