Beyond the A*

Throughout Senior School and Sixth Form our pupils are given the opportunity to learn and experience exciting activities that help prepare them for life after Surbiton High School.

In the Sixth Form, we focus each pupils education on achieving more than just an A*. With a plethora of additional programmes running throughout the school, every pupil will find something they can feel inspired by.

SIXTH FORM CO-CURRICULAR PROGRAMMES

Enterprise

Pupils develop an entrepreneurial mindset to think flexibly and decisively, network with confidence and build positive relationships and establish a personal brand through social media. There are many opportunities to initiate social enterprise projects across the whole School to encourage innovative thinking aligned to our values of kindness and compassion.

Charities

Each School House nominates a local charity which forms the focus of their fundraising activities throughout the academic year. Alongside these charities, the School supports a variety of different national and international organisations.

House System

The House system is an integral part of the wellbeing structure at Surbiton High School. In each of the three Schools, our pupils are allocated to a House and participate in a variety of competitive activities that promote leadership, creativity and collaboration.

The Duke of Edinburgh Award

The Duke of Edinburgh Award is a popular and flourishing co-curricular option. We currently run Bronze, Silver and Gold. The students take part in practice expeditions on the North and South Downs along with Exmoor and Dartmoor for Gold.

Friendship Hour

Pupils chat and share experiences/news/views and hear amazing life stories from elderly people who have experienced and seen some of the most dramatic changes of any generation to date.

Trips & Visits

Life beyond the classroom is an essential part of what we offer. We believe that trips and visits broaden horizons and instil a sense of adventure, leadership, teamwork and decision making, complementing what goes on in the classroom.
