Multi-cultural Celebration Day

Posted: 29th April 2022

On Friday 29 April, we held our inaugural Multi-cultural Celebration Day to celebrate the many cultures that make up the Surbiton High School Community.

Many of our pupils and staff wore a cultural outfit of choice that best represents their culture. We had chut thai from Thailand, dresses made from Nigerian cloth, saris from Pakistan and Sri Lanka and traditional outfits from many other countries and cultures. Some pupils and staff chose to wear sports clothing that best represents their own culture.

During lunchtime, the pupils gathered in the Quad to celebrate our multi-cultural community with music, food, singing and dancing.

This was Surbiton High School’s inaugural Multi-cultural Celebration Day, and we hope to make it an annual event. To augment the raising of awareness and understanding in that cultural celebration, we are pleased to pledge our support to the Kingston Race and Equalities Council.
