Curriculum

We offer a broad and balanced curriculum that closely follows the National Curriculum. It is enhanced and enriched in order to provide every pupil with the opportunity to reach her potential.

English, Mathematics, Science and ICT are the core subjects taught and formal SATs tests are carried out in Years 2 and 6. In addition to the core subjects, we also teach History, Geography, Religious Education, French, Spanish, Music, Drama, Gymnastics, Dance, Games, Art, Design Technology and Personal, Social and Health Education. Furthermore, we have a very caring Learning Support teacher who is able to provide the girls with any individual attention they may require to succeed within school.

There is specialist teaching throughout the school for Music, French, Spanish and PE. Years 5 and 6 are introduced to subject-based teaching for History, Geography and Science, which prepares them for their Senior School experiences.

There are many opportunities for the girls to perform within Music and Drama. They present Form Assemblies for the school and their parents and also take part in a range of plays and musical concerts throughout the year. We celebrate Christmas with a Carol Service in St Mark’s Church every year.
