On Monday 10 February, after a fantastic cup run, both our U13 and U15 squads travelled to Nottingham in preparation for the ISHC Finals Day at Beeston Hockey Club.
The U13s started their campaign with an emphatic 7-1 victory over St Teresa’s in the semi-final, showcasing their attacking flair and disciplined teamwork. This win secured their place in the final against King’s Worcester, where the team produced what was arguably their most composed and mature performance of the season. With a 5-2 win in the final, the squad was crowned ISHC National Champions—a title that was fully deserved after months of dedication and hard work.
The U15s also had an incredible journey to the title. They faced Bromsgrove in the semi-final, putting in a dominant performance to win 3-1. The final saw a rematch of their U13 final from a few years ago, as they took on local rivals St George’s. Rising to the occasion, the team played incredibly well, securing a 4-0 victory to become national champions after an outstanding cup run.
A huge thank you to Mr Gall, Miss Rickards, Miss Mackenzie, and John for their preparation and hard work in supporting the teams.
What a fantastic achievement—double national champions! Congratulations to all involved for representing Surbiton High School with such skill, determination, and sportsmanship. Learn more about the Hockey Programme at Surbiton High School.
