Our Year 11 pupils, parents and staff gathered at School today to celebrate an impressive set of GCSE results with 43.5% of all grades at Grade 9, 70% Grade 9 – 8 and 89% Grade 9 – 7. 49 pupils achieved all Grade 9s or 8s across 26 different subjects.
Specific subject highlights include 99% of pupils achieving a grade 9 – 7 in either English Language or English Literature and 94% of Maths students. 12 subjects achieved over 70% of all grades at Grade 9 – 8, including Biology, Chemistry, Drama, English Language, English Literature, French, Geography, History, Music, Physical Education, Physics and Religious Studies.
Through expert teaching, individualised support and a culture of high aspiration, we empower all our pupils to exceed expectations, and this year’s value-added score of 1.04 (adding on average over a grade beyond what a student might otherwise obtain) demonstrates the significant progress pupils can expect to make during their time with us.

Matthew Shoults, Principal, commented:
“It was a pleasure to welcome pupils and families back into School to share in their outstanding achievements at GCSE across a wide range of subjects.
These results truly demonstrate the commitment and hard work our pupils have put into their GCSE studies, alongside the supportive and inspiring culture here at Surbiton High School. We look forward to their transition into the Sixth Form in September.”
