A Mid-Season Update on Surbiton High Girls’ Football Programme
This season, Surbiton High School’s Senior girls’ football teams have been travelling across the country for fixtures, demonstrating remarkable commitment, skill, and development.
Building on last season’s record-breaking success, where we won six out of eight English Schools National Cup age groups (a first for any school, boys or girls) and two out of three Independent Schools National Cup age groups, our teams continue to excel across all age ranges.
English Schools Competitions
- U12 (234 schools entered): Knocked out in round four. A young team showing great promise for future seasons.
- U13 (489 schools entered): Quarter-final away v Plymstock, Plymouth
- U13B (24 schools entered): Quarter-final home v Channing, Haringey
- U14 (463 schools entered): Quarter-final away v Shenfield, Chelmsford
- U15 (377 schools entered): Quarter-final away v Kings, Winchester
- U15B (18 schools entered): Quarter-final home v Alleyn’s, Dulwich
- U16 (350 schools entered): Quarter-final away v Shenfield, Chelmsford
- U18 (106 schools entered): Quarter-final home v Reach, Watford
- U18 Super League (23 schools entered): Quarter-final away v Suffolk New College
Independent Schools Competitions
- U13 Cup (98 schools entered): Semi-final away v Reigate Grammar, Reigate
- U15 Cup (53 schools entered): Semi-final away v Lord Wandsworth, Hampshire
- U18 Cup (61 schools entered): Semi-final away v Mount Kelly, Devon
Achieving such results across multiple age groups is exceptional. Our pupils have played a total of 150 games so far this season, highlighting the dedication, commitment, and resilience required to maintain the highest standards of performance.
Surbiton High School’s football programme continues to set a benchmark for excellence. The calibre of our pupils and the level of our programme attracts attention from other schools, many of which are seeking to emulate our success through enhanced coaching, partnerships with professional clubs, and recruitment of high-calibre players.
