Our Year 6 boys had an exceptional experience on their Bushcraft Residential Trip, embracing every challenge and stepping confidently outside of their comfort zones. Throughout the trip, they demonstrated resilience and determination as they took part in a range of outdoor survival activities.
From learning how to build and maintain a fire to preparing a fish for their evening meal, the boys fully immersed themselves in the Bushcraft experience. One of the most memorable highlights was the thrilling aircraft crash rescue scenario, where pupils worked collaboratively to locate and ‘rescue’ their teachers, applying emergency first aid skills under pressure.

The trip was filled with moments of joy and camaraderie, with smiles evident throughout. New friendships were formed, while existing ones grew even stronger, particularly during the shared experience of rooming together overnight. A firm favourite among the boys was the woodland ‘Boogie Bash’, where impressive dance moves and plenty of laughter brought the day to a lively close.
Overall, the residential was a tremendous success. The boys not only developed valuable practical skills but also built confidence, strengthened relationships, and created lasting memories that they will carry with them for years to come.
