Students from Years 10 to 13 embarked on an enriching History and Politics trip to Washington, D.C., bringing classroom learning to life through powerful, real-world experiences. The visit included the 9/11 Memorial at the Pentagon and a moving trip to Arlington National Cemetery, where students witnessed the Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

The group explored the foundations of American democracy, viewing original documents such as the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution, and deepened their understanding of civil rights history through study of the Emancipation Proclamation. An evening tour of iconic landmarks, including the Lincoln Memorial, offered a memorable perspective on the nation’s past and present.
The trip concluded with a visit to the White House and an engaging, hands-on simulation at the People’s House, where students stepped into the roles of US Cabinet members to tackle real political scenarios.
