Leading Girls’ Football Programme
Football at Surbiton High School offers pupils the opportunity to be part of one of the country’s leading girls’ football programmes, where ambition, enjoyment and personal development go hand in hand. Pupils benefit from a culture of excellence, competing regularly at the highest level of schools’ football and experiencing the pride of representing the School in prestigious national competitions, including the English Schools National Cup, Independent Schools National Cup and Surrey Schools Cup.
However, the true strength of the programme lies in the experience every pupil receives each day. Through expert coaching, a supportive environment and a strong emphasis on long-term development, pupils grow in confidence, resilience and teamwork, both on and off the pitch.
Whether taking their first steps in the game or competing at national level, every pupil is encouraged to develop their skills, express themselves with confidence and build a lifelong love of football.
Our Philosophy
We have the utmost care for our pupils, with each pupil being supported to be the best they can be.

The Surbiton Way
Our philosophy is simple: develop exceptional footballers by developing exceptional young people.
Every pupil is encouraged to play The Surbiton Way — a style built on courage, creativity and intelligent decision-making.
We encourage pupils to:
- Play confidently from the back
- Combine and communicate effectively as a team
- Express themselves with freedom and flair
- Learn positively from mistakes and challenges
This environment allows players to grow technically, tactically and personally, becoming resilient and adaptable both on and off the pitch.

Experiences Beyond the Pitch
Football at Surbiton High School extends far beyond weekly fixtures.
Our programme offers unforgettable opportunities that broaden horizons and create lifelong memories.
A particular highlight is our football tour to FC Porto, where pupils immerse themselves in a world-class footballing culture while building friendships that last long beyond their time at School.
Pupils also enjoy opportunities to compete at iconic professional venues, creating experiences few young players ever encounter.
2025 – 2026 Season
The 2025 to 2026 football season has been an exceptional one for Surbiton High School, with more than 200 pupils representing the school across 14 teams. Pupils have demonstrated outstanding commitment, teamwork and sporting excellence throughout the year, achieving success at regional and national level. Several national titles were secured this season, contributing to the school’s remarkable total of 24 national titles and further strengthening Surbiton High School’s reputation as one of the leading football programmes in the country.
This success has also been reflected in the leadership of the programme, with the Head of Football, Mr Elbekri, recently being recognised by the Independent Schools Association as Educator of the Year for his outstanding contribution to school sport.
2024 – 2025 Results
This season has been our most exciting yet, with more pupils playing the sport than ever before. While the outstanding results rightly grab the headlines, what has made us most proud as staff is the way our pupils have conducted themselves – both on and off the pitch.
The spirit and togetherness shown in both triumph and adversity, the pride in representing the School, and the unwavering commitment to playing the game the Surbiton way have been truly inspiring.
Here are just some of the highlights from an unforgettable season:
- 15 teams
- 192 pupils involved
- 212 fixtures played
- 762 goals scored
- 9 National Finals reached (and 9 won!)
