Year 6 parents recently joined an informative virtual workshop led by Mr Trigwell, Sports Psychology and Performance Lead, exploring how to support children through the 11+ examination process. The session offered practical strategies for managing exam-related anxiety, building resilience and helping pupils approach assessments with confidence.
Parents also learned about the mentoring programme in place at Surbiton High Boys’ Preparatory School, where boys take part in weekly sessions designed to develop effective coping strategies, emotional resilience and a positive mindset. This proactive approach reflects the School’s commitment to preparing pupils for more than academic success, equipping them with the self-belief, independence and emotional skills to navigate challenges both in and beyond the classroom.
The evening concluded with a valuable question and answer session, reinforcing the importance of a strong partnership between home and school. By combining tailored pastoral support, practical guidance and close collaboration with families, Surbiton High Boys’ Preparatory School helps boys feel supported, prepared and confident as they navigate this important stage of their educational journey.
