On Sunday, 16 November, the Surrey Schools skiing competition was held at Aldershot Ski Centre for the title of best skiing school in Surrey. Surbiton entered the competition with Emily L, Tessa L, Lewis R, and Hannah H being in a mixed team, and debutants Rose R and Millie B skiing solo.

Emily took the third fastest time of a graceful 11.59 seconds in the female category. Surbiton came 1st in the mixed Y5–Y6 section and also took gold in the overall mixed teams. Rose improved her time the most out of the team, with her faster run being 1.10 seconds faster than her slower run.
The prep team came away with:
– Upper Primary Mixed 1st place – Emily, Lewis, Hannah, Tessa (Gold medals)
– Overall Primary Mixed 1st place – Emily, Lewis, Hannah, Tessa (Trophy)
– Upper Primary Female 3rd place – Emily (Bronze medal)
A big shout out to Rose and Millie in Year 5, who were racing for their first time. It was lovely to see what a great team the Surbiton High School Ski Squad are, with the seniors supporting and helping the younger skiers.
