Pupils from both the Surbiton High Girls’ Preparatory School and Boys’ Preparatory School came together for a wonderful Key Stage 1 Sports Day, celebrating teamwork, determination, friendship and fun. Held on our beautiful sports grounds at Hinchley Wood, the day provided the perfect setting for pupils to enjoy a range of exciting activities together. We were fortunate to dodge the recent thunderstorms and lightning and enjoy some glorious sunshine, which added to the celebratory atmosphere.
Pupils took part in a variety of events, including running races, obstacle courses, throwing and jumping activities, as well as favourites such as the egg and spoon race. Throughout the afternoon, every child demonstrated fantastic enthusiasm, resilience and determination, while encouraging and supporting their friends.
It was wonderful to see such positive attitudes on display, with pupils cheering one another on, embracing healthy competition and taking pride in their achievements, regardless of the outcome. Sports Day is about far more than winning; it is an opportunity to build confidence, try new challenges and enjoy being active together.
We are incredibly proud of every pupil for their effort, smiles and exemplary sportsmanship throughout the day. A huge thank you to all the parents and carers who came along to support and cheer on the children, helping to make the occasion even more special.
