A Day at Bhaktivedanta Manor

Posted: 5th June 2026

Year 7 enjoyed a vibrant and immersive visit to Bhaktivedanta Manor, a Hindu temple and spiritual sanctuary, where Hinduism was brought to life through hands-on, engaging and memorable activities.

Pupils explored key beliefs such as karma, reincarnation and the afterlife during an interactive workshop that encouraged curiosity, reflection and lively discussion. They had great fun learning how to drape saris on one another, gaining insight into traditional dress and cultural practice.

Working in groups, pupils devised and performed short dramatic scenes based on themes such as karma and reincarnation, demonstrating impressive creativity, teamwork and imagination. One pupil even performed a rap, adding a modern and confident twist that showcased real originality!

Despite the rainy weather, spirits remained high as pupils embraced the opportunity to feed the cows, which are regarded as sacred and highly respected within Hindu tradition. The visit also included a traditional vegetarian meal, offering pupils a meaningful experience of faith-based dietary practice and cultural tradition.
