During February Half Term, our Sixth Form students studying History of Art, Art, and Photography enjoyed an inspiring four-day trip to Rome.
The visit offered students the opportunity to experience key sites that directly complement their A-level studies. They explored the Colosseum and Pantheon, gaining insight into Ancient Roman art and architecture. At the Vatican Museums, including the Sistine Chapel and St Peter’s Basilica, pupils observed world-renowned masterpieces up close.

Baroque art was highlighted during visits to several churches, while contemporary inspiration was found at MAXXI and the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art. Pupils also applied their classroom learning practically, seeing first-hand how historical and modern techniques inform artistic creation.
The trip was a resounding success, providing invaluable first-hand experiences that will enhance both academic understanding and practical work.
