STEAM Week at Surbiton High Boys’ Prep School ran from Monday, 9 February, to Thursday, 12 February, with this year’s theme: ‘Curiosity, what’s your question?’ From the very first morning, both buildings were alive with excitement as boys arrived bursting with ideas, eager to explore and investigate.
As always, pupils from Avenue Elmers and Charles Burney House were mixed across year groups, creating a strong sense of community. Older pupils naturally stepped into supportive roles, showing compassion as they guided younger teammates. In return, the younger boys demonstrated plenty of courage as they shared their ideas with confidence.
Throughout the week, teamwork was at the heart of every challenge. The boys collaborated brilliantly, listening respectfully to one another, experimenting bravely, and adapting their plans with resilience when faced with unexpected results. Their inquisitive nature shone through as they asked thoughtful questions, tested possibilities, and embraced the true spirit of investigation.
Across all groups, it was clear how deeply the boys embodied our school values. Whether supporting a peer, discussing the best approach, or celebrating a team success, they consistently showed respect, courage, curiosity, compassion, and a genuine sense of belonging to a shared community.
A huge thank you goes to all the boys and staff for throwing themselves so wholeheartedly into every task and helping create a brilliant week of learning.
