Outstanding Success at ISGA 5-Piece Premier National Championships

Posted: 18th March 2025

This season, for the first time ever, Surbiton High School entered the Independent Schools Gymnastics Association (ISGA) competitions, marking an exciting new chapter for our gymnastics teams. Competing in a different league of gymnastics competitions than ever before, our pupils rose to the challenge with remarkable determination and skill.

Following a series of preliminary rounds before Christmas, our Over 13 team successfully qualified for the ISGA 5-Piece Premier National Championships. This weekend, our dedicated team of Daisy A, Emmie A, Annabel C, Maeve H, and Louisa S arrived at Tormead School to compete in this prestigious event, which showcased an exceptionally high standard of gymnastics.

Each gymnast was required to perform five routines: Set Floor, Voluntary Floor, Set Vault, Voluntary Vault, and a Group Sequence. Demonstrating outstanding talent and resilience, our pupils delivered exceptional performances across all disciplines.

We are delighted to announce the following superb results:

  • Over 13 Individual All-Around: 6th place – Emmie A (Year 12), 3rd place – Maeve H (Year 10)
  • Over 13 Overall Team: 3rd place – Daisy A (Year 12), Emmie A (Year 12), Annabel C (Year 11), Maeve H (Year 10), Louisa S (Year 10)
  • Over 13 Group Sequence: 1st Place – National Champions! – Emmie A (Year 12), Annabel C (Year 11), Maeve H (Year 10), Louisa S (Year 10)

In addition to these outstanding team and individual achievements, there were also some special awards recognising extraordinary performances. Louisa S was awarded the ‘Against All Odds’ trophy, celebrating her perseverance and dedication. Maeve H received the ‘Highest Floor Score of the Day’ with an incredible 9.9 out of 10.0. A special mention also goes to Daisy A, who achieved a perfect 10.0 on Set Vault – a truly remarkable accomplishment!

Huge congratulations to all the gymnasts for their hard work, commitment, and exceptional performances. Their success at the ISGA 5-Piece Premier National Championships is a testament to their talent and dedication, and we look forward to seeing what they achieve next.
