On Wednesday 28 September, Year 2 took an exciting trip to London Zoo to support their current topic ‘Africa’ and learn more about animal life cycles.
We started the day visiting ‘Into Africa’ where we were very lucky to see hippos, giraffes and zebras. After admiring these wonderful animals, we carried on our adventure and saw warthogs and wild dogs, who were being very active! Next, we visited the ‘Rainforest’ and had the chance to see a sloth bear up close, a tortoise and various monkeys.
Throughout the rest of the day, we explored many other parts of the zoo. One of the favourites was seeing a couple of lions (who were having an afternoon nap) up close. We also had the chance to enter the ‘Butterfly Paradise’ and watch a penguin show, where Charlie the penguin was being very cheeky! The boys had a thoroughly enjoyable day, with all of them discovering new animal facts.
