Surbiton Independent Project

The Surbiton Independent Project(SIP) provides an opportunity for students to develop skills required in higher education whilst exploring a specific area of interest. Skills such as research and referencing sources will be taught alongside time management and presentation skills with the aim of preparing our students for the more independent type of work they will encounter in higher education.

Each student will complete a taught course as they work to research and write a dissertation on their findings. Support will be available throughout the course from their project supervisor who will also deliver the once weekly timetabled lesson used to develop skills and for focused research. The project course culminates in the submission of a written report and a presentation given by each student on their findings.
