Paula read English Language and Literature at Salford University before completing a PGCE at Edge Hill. She began her career teaching English in a large state secondary school. After relocating to the southeast, she worked in people management—first in international recruitment, then at PwC as resource manager for the London corporate tax team.
In 2007, Paula returned to teaching via a primary course at Roehampton University. She taught in a state primary school before joining the independent sector in 2009. Over the next decade at St George’s College Junior School, she gained extensive 11+ experience and held roles including Head of English and Head of More Able Pupils.
Following completion of the NPQSL, Paula became Deputy Head Academic at Newland House School, overseeing curriculum, teaching and 11+/13+ transition. After five successful years and earning the NPQH, she was appointed Headmistress of Falcons School, Putney.
Passionate about education, Paula has served as a Governor at a Hampshire primary school for seven years, currently chairing the Education Committee. She is also a trained Independent Schools Inspector.
Outside of work, Paula enjoys cooking, entertaining, and playing golf. She regularly visits Cornwall with her husband, three children and labrador.
