GYM SPECIFIC TEST - OVERVIEW FOR VIDEO GUIDANCE

Videos submitted must be unedited and include all elements below in succession. We understand (and expect) that girls may make mistakes, but please do not stop the video. We would prefer to see a girl complete an element and adapt to a mistake as she would in a live setting, rather than videos being cut so that only perfect performances are seen. If they make a mistake, they can try again to do the element to the best of their ability.

 If there are elements that your daughter is unable to perform, or currently need support for, don’t worry, just get her to say that on the footage and move onto the next…

GYM SPECIFIC TEST - JAPANA SPLITS BRIDGE

Japana (Hold for 10 secs)

Right leg splits (Hold for 10 secs)

Left leg splits (Hold for 10 secs)

Box splits (Hold for 10 secs)

Bridge (Push shoulders over wrists/straight legs/feet together – Hold for 5 secs)

GYM SPECIFIC TEST - ROLLS

Forward Roll (From standing to standing)

Backward Roll (From standing to standing)

A Handstand Roll (eg Handstand forward roll OR Backward roll to handstand)

GYM SPECIFIC TEST - CARTWHEELS

Cartwheel (R or L handed – can be front to back or side to side)

One handed Cartwheel

GYM SPECIFIC TEST - HEADSTAND AND HANDSTAND

Headstand (Entry optional – Hold for 5 secs – Control exit)

Handstand (Entry optional eg Kick/Elephant lift/Straddle up – Hold in straight position – Control exit)

Chasse step Split Leap / Split Change / (Ring Leap)

PRE-PLANNED CHOREOGRAPHED PERFORMANCE

(You will be marked /10 for style, presentation & musical interpretation)

Perform to music of your choice (30 secs – 1 min long), linking dance movements together (like a mini floor routine). You may choose to use basic equipment (eg Acro blocks or Rhythmic hand-held apparatus).

* The choreographed piece can obviously be pre-planned/rehearsed before filming!
