Pupils Enjoy Exciting Trip to Copper Box Arena

Posted: 25th March 2026

Over 30 of our pupils recently attended the London Pulse v Nottingham Forest netball match at the Copper Box Arena, enjoying a truly memorable experience.

From the outset, there was a real sense of excitement and anticipation. For many pupils and parents, this was their first experience of live elite netball. The match itself delivered a fast-paced, high-quality contest that culminated in a thrilling period of extra time, creating an electric atmosphere across the arena.

Our pupils also took part in some unique and inspiring opportunities. The group proudly represented Surbiton High School as flag bearers during the pre-match build-up, contributing to the professional environment of the event. Several pupils also met London Pulse captain Zara Everitt for a group photo — an experience that will stay with them for years to come.

The trip provided more than just the chance to watch elite sport; it was an opportunity to inspire and engage pupils. Many left feeling motivated and excited about netball, and it was wonderful to see so much enthusiasm, positivity and exemplary behaviour throughout the evening.

Thanks are extended to the staff who supported the trip and ensured its smooth running. Their dedication played an important role in making the evening such a success. Overall, the visit offered pupils exposure to the excitement and high standard of performance in elite netball firsthand.

For those who would like to see our pupils in action, the game is available on BBC iPlayer — a perfect showcase of the growing popularity of netball in the United Kingdom.
