Surbiton High Welcomes Ukrainian Students for Cultural Exchange

Posted: 10th November 2025

The Senior School welcomes a group of Ukrainian students and a staff member from the charity UKUA as part of a special cultural and educational exchange. Their visit offers a unique opportunity to experience life in an English school, connect with our community, and explore new academic and creative ideas.

Throughout their stay, the students will take part in a variety of lessons, workshops, and enrichment activities alongside our Sixth Form students. These experiences are designed to give them a true sense of what it’s like to study in the UK, while also encouraging meaningful dialogue and friendship between students from different backgrounds.

We are especially pleased to see our pupils stepping into leadership roles; acting as buddies, tour guides, and hosts, demonstrating the warmth and openness that define our School community. From classroom learning to cultural events, the programme reflects our commitment to global understanding and shared learning.

As part of their visit, the students will also have the chance to attend our School musical production ‘West Side Story’ at the New Wimbledon and meet a prominent UK political leader, adding further depth to their experience.

We hope this exchange will leave lasting impressions and spark new ideas for everyone involved. To our Ukrainian guests: we’re thrilled to have you with us and hope you feel truly at home here at Surbiton High School!
