Girls’ Prep: Mrs McIntyre’s Half Term Reflection

Posted: 6th October 2025

It’s been a busy but incredibly enjoyable few weeks so far at the Girls’ Prep, and I have loved speaking to so many of the pupils and hearing about what they think makes it such a special place. Whether doing Maths with Year 1, reading to Reception, practicing interviews with Year 6, teaching English to Year 3, or simply enjoying the many lunches, sat chatting with the girls, I have felt so welcomed by every girl and staff member alike.

One of the aspects of School life I value most is pupil voice, and I am really enjoying hearing the thoughts and ideas of every girl as I meet them. It is so important to me that every pupil at the Girls’ Prep feels seen, heard, and valued. The warmth, energy, and enthusiasm that fill the School have made these early weeks a real joy, and I’m genuinely excited for the rest of the year and all that lies ahead.

Even in this short time, as Head of the Girls’ Prep, I am already struck by the strong sense of community, curiosity, and care that runs through every part of School life. It is clear that this is a place where girls are encouraged to be themselves, to try new things, and to support one another in all they do. I look forward to working closely with pupils, staff, and families to build on these brilliant foundations, ensuring every girl continues to flourish, to find her voice, and to enjoy all the opportunities that life at the Prep has to offer.
