Posted: 29th September 2025

We are proud to announce that Surbiton High School has been awarded the Educating for Equality Allegiance Award, recognising our commitment to anti-racism, gender equality, and inclusive education.

Following a rigorous assessment, the awarding panel praised the school’s leadership, inclusive policies, and proactive approach to embedding equity across all areas of school life. Highlights from the panel’s feedback included:

  • Purposeful leadership and governance, aligned with a trust-wide strategic vision.
  • Robust safeguarding and restorative practices, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment.
  • Reflective and relevant staff training, equipping educators to challenge bias and foster belonging.
  • A rich, inclusive curriculum, empowering pupils to explore justice, identity, and community.
  • Strong family and community engagement, including global partnerships and culturally responsive initiatives.

The panel also commended our forward-thinking plans to further strengthen recruitment processes, curriculum review, and data-driven approaches to equity and belonging.

This accreditation is valid from 12 August 2025 to 11 August 2028, and we are honoured to share this achievement with our School community.
