IOAA Success

The International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA) was held in Mumbai this summer. This is a worldwide annual competition designed to inspire and challenge secondary school pupils with a strong interest in astronomy and astrophysics. Our Head of Physics, Dr Calverley, is also Chair the UK IOAA competition and supported and mentored the UK team and led the organisation. The UK team were placed joint 2nd out of 63 participating countries, scoring 4 Golds and 1 Silver. Congratulations to all involved.
