Our Year 11 pupils are celebrating a stellar set of GCSE results today with 43% of all grades awarded at Grade 9; almost 70% of entries were graded 9-8 (the equivalent of A*), and 100% of grades were Grade 9 – 4.
19 pupils achieved nine or more Grade 9s at GCSE, with almost half the year group achieving eight or more Grades 9 – 8.
Many of our pupils have combined their academic studies with busy co-curricular lives; Daisy D qualified for the Welsh Winter Swimming Nationals, Amelia R was selected for the U19 GB rowing trials this year, Anna S plays volleyball at international level and Taylor W plays for Chelsea Academy.
Celebrating our pupils’ achievements, our Principal, Mr Shoults commented:
“I’m delighted for our students on gaining such excellent results. They’ve shown enthusiasm and dedication to their studies and been rewarded for their efforts. Alongside their studies, they’ve also, importantly, continued to develop their sporting, dramatic, musical and other interests. We can’t wait to see them in a fortnight to hit the ground running in the Sixth Form. I’m very grateful to our terrific teaching staff for all of their inspiration and support in helping these exceptional individuals do so well.”
We look forward to welcoming our pupils back into the Sixth Form to embrace the next steps of their education. Riley E commented:
“I am so looking forward to continuing with my favourite subjects at Sixth Form and taking my studies on to the next level.”
