In half-term, our Art Gifted and Talented pupils embarked on a fantastic creative adventure to St Ives, Cornwall. The trip offered a unique opportunity to develop artistic skills in an inspiring coastal setting, with sketching sessions around the harbour, beaches, and dramatic headland forming the foundation of much of the pupils’ creative exploration.
Workshops such as Expressive Mark-Making and pinch pot pottery at the renowned Bernard Leach Pottery allowed hands-on learning, while visits to the Barbara Hepworth Museum and The Tate St Ives broadened artistic knowledge and fuelled inspiration for individual projects.
We made the most of every moment, even turning the journey into an experience, with a stop at The Eden Project on the way down and The Lost Gardens of Heligan on the return. The trip was packed with creativity, learning, laughter, and fun, leaving everyone enriched and inspired.
