The squad travelled up on Thursday, 15 May to prepare for what promised to be a high-quality and competitive day of hockey – and they certainly delivered.
We opened the tournament with a confident 3–0 win against St Faith’s, Cambridge, settling any early nerves with two quick goals from Grace T. The second match saw the girls come up against a physical Millfield side, but they rose to the challenge superbly, securing a 3–1 win with determination and composure.
In our final group game against RGS Newcastle, the team put in another dominant performance, running out 3–0 winners – a result that saw us top the group and progress to the final.
The final against Epsom College was a close and hard-fought affair, but the girls showed great resilience and quality to come away with a well-earned 2–1 victory – crowning them national champions!
A massive well done to the entire squad, who were outstanding throughout the day, both in their performances and their teamwork – especially in the challenging heat!
