On Wednesday 27 November, two teams from the U11 Girls’ Prep gymnastics squad were selected to compete in the Prior’s Field Gymnastics Festival. The girls had the challenging task of not only learning, memorising, and performing a floor routine consisting of nine consecutive skills but also showcasing their two best vaults.
Each week, the girls worked tirelessly to perfect their routines and develop their gymnastics etiquette in preparation for the big day.
For many of the girls, this was their first time representing Surbiton High School as part of a gymnastics squad. With nerves running high, we were truly impressed by how professional, patient, and precise the girls were during the competition.
Their hard work and dedication certainly paid off, as the squad returned home with four medals in total—two bronze and two gold!
Congratulations to Mia and Ava for placing joint 3rd, and to Adela for placing 1st in the U11 Beginner category.
Congratulations to Camilla for placing 1st in the U11 Elite category.
A huge congratulations to Aaradhya, Amandine, Claudia, Tilly, and all the other girls who took part.
Well done!
