Year 12 Politics students had a great morning at the Houses of Parliament. They were given a tour of the Commons, where they listened to MPs questioning the Secretary of State for Transport and then took on the roles of MPs themselves in a workshop focused on laws and debating.
Speaker Marin chaired a lively debate between two parties, led by Sophia and Maddie, on the issue of assisted dying. This helped students gain a practical understanding of the legislative process in Parliament, and the visit left them more informed and perhaps inspired to see themselves sitting on the green benches in the future!
