Year 5 boys visited the David Hockney Bigger & Closer (not smaller and further away) exhibition at The Lightroom in Kings Cross. The aim of the trip was to immerse the boys in the life and artwork of David Hockney following on from studying this artist in their lessons.
The exhibition took the boys on a sensory journey using large-scale projection on vast walls and a revolutionary sound system enabling them to experience the world through Hockney’s eyes. The boys thoroughly enjoyed seeing artwork that they had studied in the classroom come to life in this magical way!
