Girls’ Prep Year 1 Trip to Bushy Park

Posted: 22nd May 2023

Year 1 enjoyed a trip to The Stockyard Education Centre at Bushy Park, and there was a buzz in the air and big smiles all round! The minute we arrived we were greeted by our friendly experts. The girls quickly settled down to their first task which was a fun, practical game about healthy plant growth. We learned about seed germination, pollination and the life cycle of plants. Then we played lots of games and had fun pretending to be the honey bees!

They were enthusiastically engaged in their learning and enjoyed exploring the open green spaces, appreciating the nature and spotting different types of wild plants and flowering plants. The girls were very pleased to see many animals along our nature walk, spotting geese, horses and rabbit holes!

We then enjoyed a very tasty picnic lunch. This was followed by a tree detective hunt on the beautiful grounds where the girls enjoyed using their tree identification sheet and completed leaf and tree rubbings. The girls loved being outside and enjoyed the sunnier spells, as did the staff! We can’t wait for our next school trip!
