Year 12 Coastal Management Trip

Posted: 1st March 2023

Last week, Surbiton High Year 12 Geography A level students had a productive and educational trip to Leeson House in Dorset. The fieldwork and data collection skills they acquired, such as surveying methods, coastal fieldwork techniques, cost-benefit analysis, beach profiling, and groyne efficiency, will be valuable for the students to analyse and draw conclusions for their Geography A level NEA, which is a significant portion of their final grade. Students were able to apply their knowledge in a practical setting, which is essential for developing a deeper understanding of the concepts learned in the classroom.

Overall, this field trip is an excellent hands-on opportunity for the students to develop their practical skills and apply theoretical concepts to real-world situations, which will undoubtedly be beneficial for their future studies and careers.
