Chamber Choirs at Kingston Market Place

Posted: 14th December 2022

The Surbiton Boys’ Prep Lower and Upper Chamber Choirs have had a very busy holiday season and I cannot begin to express how proud and impressed I have been at their focus, dedication to the ensembles and their stunning performances!

On Saturday 3 December, the Chamber Choirs graced the stage in the Kingston Market Place. With the clouds covering the sun, causing a grey colour in the sky, the atmosphere embodied a cold, Christmas afternoon. With the market filled with people, the boys sang their hearts out to the Christmas carols they had been learning in rehearsals. They sang a range of traditional carols, popular carols and new songs they had only learned over the past term. Needless to say, it was a fun performance and a great way to start the Christmas season.

On Tuesday 13 December, the choirs walked along the river to the Bentall Centre. With the excitement of another performance together, the boys were not fazed by the cold, crisp walk to the venue. Arriving at the Bentall Centre, we were escorted to the top floor to sing our well known tunes. Their sound rang out through the department store, bringing festive cheer to all around. Once again, the Chamber Choirs brought enthusiasm, emotion and enjoyment to their performance.

As the boys have sung many times, we wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! We look forward to singing again together next term!
