SCOPE: Using Your Voice For Positive Change

Posted: 14th October 2022

On Wednesday 5 October, we held our first Surbiton-COPE (SCOPE) day of 2022-23. For this SCOPE day, our theme was ‘using your voice for positive change’ and involved all pupils being out of their normal lessons to take part in PSHE and RSE talks and activities. There are two SCOPE days each year and the second one will be in March.

Pupils had the opportunity to hear from a number of inspirational guest speakers, including Rebekah Pierre on the UK care system and using your voice, Debi Stevens at Action Breaks Silence who shared her story and talked about gender based violence and female empowerment and Joanna Maiden at the Kujawa Initiative who gave a virtual talk on period poverty.
