Polar Explorer Adrian Hall Visits the Girls’ Prep

Posted: 14th October 2022

Last Thursday, Year 5 had a polar explorer called Adrian Hall to come and talk to us about the extreme environments and what the essentials are to survive. He talked about many things, such as where he has been and how everything you take to the arctic must be as light as possible. We did this to build our understanding about what it would be like to live in extreme environments. Once we had listened to his talk, we then went outside to develop our map reading skills and understanding of how to find our way on an expedition. We learned how to use a compass and about the animals who live in these extreme conditions.

“He was brilliant.” – Darcey

“He was very interesting because he had so many facts.”- Eleanor

– Ziyan and Freya
