Year 2 Windsor Castle Trip

Posted: 4th May 2022

On Thursday 28 April, Year 2 visited Windsor Castle to support our new topic this term; Turrets and Tales. Upon arrival at the castle, we made our way through the grounds, where we were very lucky to see the changing of the guard ceremony. Afterwards, we looked around St George’s Chapel, where the boys saw King Henry VIII’s tomb, as well as learn about the armour and flags of the knights from the Order of the Garter.

We then visited the State Apartments of the Castle and saw the rooms that were built for Charles II and his Queen, Catherine of Braganza. The boys enjoyed looking around and learning many facts. We even saw secret doors in each room!

The boys thoroughly enjoyed the trip and to quote one boy in the year group who said it was the best trip ever!
