On Thursday 27 January, pupils from Year 11 were fortunate enough to visit the Warner Brother’s Studio tour in northwest London to see the making of Harry Potter. It was a fantastic opportunity for those die-hard fans of the Harry Potter film series to see behind the scenes and get a glimpse of how all of the magic takes place on screen, from iconic set pieces, props and costumes to animatronics and post-production techniques.
Some highlights were the great hall, Gringotts Wizarding Bank and the large-scale model of Hogwarts school, which was described as the jewel in the crown of the design team.
Pupils (and staff) got to pose on broomsticks to appear in a Quidditch match and add themselves to a wanted poster as dangerous outlaw wizards pursued by the Ministry of Magic.
It was also an incredible opportunity to see how many people it takes to put a feature film together and the story of the actors growing up on set whilst still undertaking their studies.
