This half term, the boys in Year 5 have been working with Charles Dickens’s classic Christmas tale, ‘A Christmas Carol’.
We have read key extracts together and the boys have met the four spirits, including Scrooge’s old business partner, Jacob Marley. In their writing, the boys have worked hard to create atmosphere, in the style of Charles Dickens as well as creating tension, as Scrooge first meets the spirits that will transform his life. The boys have thoroughly enjoyed working with this text, have produced some great writing and as we approach the end of term, are enjoying watching ‘A Muppet Christmas Carol’.
