The Learning Partnership Programme has launched at the Girls’ Prep!
This is a peer-to-peer programme where thirty Year 10 pupils come across to the GP on Mondays and Tuesdays to support Year 6 pupils with Maths skills (although I think the Year 6s are giving the Year 10s a run for their money in terms of ability!). Mr Peters is masterminding the session content and Mrs Newman is masterminding the logistics. The girls have been having some great discussions about the questions set and the different approaches that can be used to solve a problem. This has also really helped to develop the girls’ mathematical oracy. Explaining methods to a partner also leads to a much deeper understanding of the mathematical concepts.
The teamwork has been excellent and it has been lovely to see so many smiling faces.
