Arrr! This week, the girls in Year 1 were transformed into scary pirates.
As part of our seaside topic, we have been reading the story of ‘The Pirates Next Door’ and have enjoyed a range of pirate-based English activities. First, we worked collaboratively with our partner to understand and recognise the features of instructions, such as time conjunctions and bossy verbs. Then, we wrote our own instructions for ‘How to make a pirate hat’.
After writing, we followed our instructions and enjoyed posing as pirates in our new hats.
