A Screen-Free Afternoon of Crafting

Posted: 10th February 2021

Last Wednesday, in Year 5/6 CWC, we put down the measuring beakers and turned off our iPads, for an afternoon of card-making and crafting.

The girls delighted in coming into school in their own clothes and making cards to express their thanks to local NHS workers, getting creative and realising the mental health benefit of expressing gratitude at the same time. Times tables were replaced with glue sticks, paint and recycled materials, as the girls worked collaboratively on the ‘Show the Love Green Hearts Campaign’, producing artwork to display in the CWC classroom windows.

As well as providing a welcome break from screens with some hands-on imaginative crafting, the girls could discuss their concern about the environment. A wonderful afternoon!
