The pandemic was not going to prevent the team of volunteers from Surbiton High School and St Mark’s and St Andrew’s Church from preparing and delivering hot meals and Christmas gifts to those members of the community who found themselves alone on Christmas Day.
Following strict Health and Safety guidelines, the volunteers patiently queued up, 2 metres apart, to collect their food and present parcels and then deliver them to the front doors of all our guests. To see the smiles on their faces and to learn that the hot meal made their day means so much to us all.
Our grateful thanks to Chartwells for supplying the chefs and food, CD Jennings for donating all the meat and Wren Kitchens for donating insulating bags to enable the safe transportation of the food from kitchen to doorstep.
