In Creative and Critical Thinking, the Year 4 girls made Egyptian Shadufs (a hand-operated device for lifting water out of the Nile in order to irrigate their crops).
The bucket is dipped into the river, and the weight on the other end of the ‘see-saw’ makes it easy to lift the water.
There were many Learning Habits on display; from planning and perseverance, to revising models when the structure wouldn’t balance.
A super lesson to complement our Humanities topic of Ancient Egypt.
