YEAR 10 PUPIL LAUNCHES OWN START-UP

Posted: 13th October 2020

One enterprising Year 10 pupil, Kate, and her neighbour have been busy starting their own business during the summer months!

Having been involved in the enterprise projects at School with ‘Make 2020’ in Year 8 and the ‘Home Hack’ course, run by our Entrepreneur-in-Residence, David Harkin; the two girls decided they had learnt enough skills to set up a small business. After brainstorming a number of ideas, the girls realised there was an opportunity to bring entertainment into the home at a time when few people could go out and they came up with the idea of selling in-home entertainment boxes. They have been busy writing their business plan, sourcing and creating materials and creating their end product.

Launched a few weeks ago, sales are looking promising and they are already expanding with Halloween boxes and a Christmas box is being developed. You can find out more about their exciting products on Instagram and Depop under the @and_more_boxes.

“I’ve find the whole project really interesting. It’s been fun coming up with ideas and working through every element of business to get it launched and selling products. Everyone has been really enthusiastic about what we are doing.“ – Kate
