Young Enterprise
Young Enterprise provides girls in the Sixth Form with the opportunity to establish a business, selling to clients and generating a profit. It is highly valued by universities and employers for fostering creativity, teamwork and leadership. Last year three school YE companies designed and manufactured a variety of products and services and the Area Final was held at Surbiton High School to celebrate success throughout the Kingston and Richmond region. This year, a group of Year 12 entrepreneurs have united to form the company Alight whose aim is to bring simple yet delicious recipes to students or, in fact, anybody who needs a little bit of help in the kitchen. They have attended several trade events, such as the Kingston Young Enterprise Trade Fair and Spitalfields Market where they met Chris Bates (runner up of the Apprentice), who was particularly impressed with their professionalism and business skills. They also attended the Maple Road Farmers' Market, along with selling at school events such as the Fashion Show and Antigone.
