Can we visit the school?

The Open Morning will be held at the Surbiton Assembly Rooms, 138 Maple Road, Surbiton KT6 4RT and will include a tour of the school and the Sixth Form Centre and the opportunity to meet with subject staff.

If you are not able to attend, we would be pleased to arrange an individual tour for you. To attend the Open Morning, or arrange a tour, please contact the Admissions Office on 020 8439 1309 or

When and how should we apply for a place?
Your application should reach us no later than 1 November the year before entry.  Please complete an Application Form and a Sixth Form A-level choices form.  There is a non-returnable application fee of £100.  If you want to apply for a scholarship for 2014 entry, your application must reach us by 9.00am Wednesday 16 October 2013.

What schools do your pupils come from?
The majority of girls from our own Senior School move up to the Sixth Form.  External entrants come to us from a variety of state and independent schools in the area and from schools further afield or overseas as a result of family relocation.

What are the entry requirements?
You would usually need a minimum of eight GCSE passes at grade A* - B, including A in Mathematics and English Literature or Language and an A in the subjects you are intending to study at AS-level,  and any offer made will be conditional on achieving these grades.

What if I am not sitting GCSE examinations?
If you are applying from overseas and are not sitting GCSE examinations, we will ask you to sit entrance examinations in Maths, English and a language or other appropriate subject. Any offer made will be conditional on A-level subject choices agreed with you during your interview.

Is there an interview?
Yes, you will have an interview with the Head of Sixth Form and this will take place during November/early December. We will want to discuss your intended A-level subject choices and University and Career aspirations, as well as find out more about your interests and achievements both academic and co-curricular.

Do you offer the International Baccalaureate (IB)?
No, our students usually study four AS levels in Year 12 and take three subjects through to A-level in Year 13. We have also had success in recent years with

  • EPQ - an A-level equivalent award for girls in Year 12 wishing to explore a subject well beyond the curriculum
  • Open University modules
  • AS Critical Thinking
